Spanish invoice terms in English

Invoice in Spanish is factura, and an invoice in English is what a Spanish speaker means by factura en inglés. These are the labels the PDF prints, with their English equivalents:

  • Factura: Invoice, and Factura n.º: Invoice number
  • Vendedor and Comprador: Seller and Buyer
  • Fecha de emisión: Date of issue
  • Fecha de vencimiento: Due date
  • IVA: VAT, and NIF/CIF: Tax ID
  • Precio neto and Importe bruto: Net price and Gross amount
  • Total a pagar: Total to pay
  • Importe en letras: Amount in words
  • Forma de pago: Payment method

What changes when you pick Spanish

Choosing Spanish rewrites the PDF itself, not only the app around it. Each printed label comes from a Spanish translation rather than an English string with a Spanish title on top.

The tax column reads IVA, and the summary table gives the rate as Tipo IVA. If you bill under another name, such as IGIC in the Canary Islands or IVA with a Mexican RFC, rename the tax label and the tax number label, and the new wording appears everywhere they print.

The total, written out in Spanish

Spanish invoices often repeat the total in words, and the generator writes it the way Spanish counts.

1234 becomes mil doscientos treinta y cuatro. Note mil, never un mil, and the y that joins tens and units, as in treinta y cuatro.

Spanish words, any currency

Currency is a separate setting, so a Spanish invoice can be billed in euros, Mexican pesos, US dollars or any of 122 currencies.

Amounts follow Spanish punctuation: a point between thousands and a comma before the cents, so 1.234,56. On the Stripe-style template the date reads 17 de diciembre de 2025.

Spanish support compared

Many invoice tools translate their own interface and leave the document in English. This compares what reaches your client.

FAQ

How do you say invoice in Spanish?

Factura. With Spanish selected, the PDF is titled Factura and the number is labelled Factura n.º on the default template, or Número de factura on the Stripe-style one.

What is factura in English?

Invoice. To send a Spanish-speaking business an invoice in English, keep the language on English; to send it in Spanish, switch to Spanish. The content stays the same either way.

Does the invoice say IVA or VAT?

IVA. Picking Spanish sets the tax label to IVA on the line items and Tipo IVA in the summary. You can replace it with your own wording, such as IGIC, and it is used everywhere the tax appears.

Can I use it for Mexico or other Latin American countries?

For the wording, yes: rename NIF/CIF to RFC or your local tax ID and pick the currency. It produces a PDF, not a CFDI or any other government e-invoice, so check whether your invoices must be issued through one.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no signup and no email step. The PDF is built in your browser, so the invoice data never reaches a server.

Is this accounting software?

No. It produces invoice PDFs and does not file, track or reconcile anything, and it makes no compliance guarantees. Check the result against your own bookkeeping requirements.
